Pair of Derby porcelain blue-ground bottle-vases and covers.c1830
Traces of red crowned D mark to one vase.
Each vase is painted with figures in wooded landscapes, one with a thatched cottage and livestock, the other with a gothic ruin, within gilt cartouches with foliage, shells and diaper ornament.
Both vases are in very good condition with no cracks and with one vase having a 0.3 centimetre loss of gilt on the top of the neck and with some rubbing of the gilt. There are also a few tiny pit marks and some minor loss of the blue from usage that certainly does not impact on how they display as shown in the photographs. They are a delight.
